Tempe, home to Arizona State University and Mill Avenue, is located in the western part of the East Valley (if that makes any sense). Scottsdale is to its north, Phoenix to its west, Meas to the east and Chandler to the south. It is a "landlocked" city so there isn't a great deal of growth, but it it rich in diversity, employment and things to do.
